Polish forces defeat SS battalion and capture SS heavy equipment

Polish troops have won the Battle of Jaworów, defeating the invading German forces, and capturing significant amounts of equipment from an SS regiment.

Two days ago on 14 September 1939, the Polish Małopolska Army, under the command of General Kazimierz Sosnkowski, attempted to move towards the city of Lwów. Germany forces, including SS units, were ordered to intercept the retreating Poles.

For two days the armies clashed. Today, the Polish forces broke through the German line and defeated the enemy. In the resulting defeat, the Poles captured significant amounts of heavy equipment belonging to the defending SS-Germania battalion.

In other news, French forces have withdrawn from the Siegfried Line after failing in their mission of drawing German troops away from Poland to defend the line.
