U-27 sunk by British Royal Navy

The Royal Navy scored a morale boost today with the discovery and sinking of U-27.

The German U-boat U-27 was sunk by the British Royal Navy vessels HMS Fortune, HMS Faulknor and HMS Forester.

U-27, under the command of Johannes Franz, was being hunted by the Royal Navy after it attacked and sunk the British trawler Davara. All crew were rescued by the Royal Navy and will spend the rest of the war in a prisoner of war camp.
