American President celebrates gift from British King George VI

In a symbolic link between Britain and America, the US President attended a church service today marking the dedication of a bible gifted to him by the British king.

King George VI visited the United States in June of 1939 in a highly choreographed visit. The trip, planned with guidance directly from the US president, was successful in winning over the support of the American people.

The bible, given to Franklin D. Roosevelt by the King, was dedicated at 11am in St. James Church1, New York.
