Battle of Jarosław ends in success for Poland

Today Polish forces ended the two day long Battle of Jarosław, claiming success with their aim of delaying German progress into Poland.

Polish army forces, under the command of General Stanisław Maczek, took a stand in the riverside town of Jarosław. For two days the troops held back successive German attacks, which was enough time for the Polish 10th Motorized Cavalry Brigade to cross the river and retreat further eastwards.

In other news, Saudi Arabia has official severed diplomatic relations with Germany. In now stands as a neutral state in the war, although it favours supporting the Allied forces with oil. The Saudi leader, King Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, is a friend of US President Franklin D Roosevelt.
