Polish city of Lwów occupied by Soviet Red Army

The Polish city of Lwów surrendered today.

The city’s defence was led by Polish commander brigadier general Franciszek Sikorski. Despite having plentiful supplies, and the German army pulling out, Sikorski realised further defence of the city was pointless and would lead to more civilian casualties and deaths.
